URGENT!! Time To Patch Your Windows PCs

Published: July 10, 2024 on our newsletter Security Fraud News & Alerts Newsletter.

I know, I know. You’re probably tired of updating things all the time. However, if you are a Windows version 10 or 11 user, you should really consider not delaying the latest updates for the Microsoft operating system. A recent vulnerability with regard to using WiFi could allow an attacker to execute remote code commands to a device. And since it affects every supported version of Windows, it’s definitely getting the attention of the hacking community.

It’s tracked as CVE-2024-30078 and it’s pretty serious, since it doesn’t take any user interaction at all to be exploited. It has a patch available, that was included in a June Patch Tuesday release along with 48 security-related flaws for the operating system. One other one to pay attention to is CVE-2023-50868, which could allow an attacker to perform denial of service attacks against a device and yet another one, considered critical (CVE-2024-30080) is another remote code execution flaw.

Therefore, don’t delay in getting those updates applied. Set aside some time to do it, if you are one that prefers doing this manually. But if you really want to be sure not to miss the patches, turn on automatic updates and the computer will do it for you.

As always, make sure you keep all of the software on your devices updated at all times. Not only does it protect them, but it also keeps those annoying notifications from taunting you every time you look at your screens.
